CONFERENCE LOGO

KANGAROO PAW
Western Australia’s floral emblem, the Kangaroo Paw, is used in this logo to depict the product of Catholic Education – growing, beautiful, vibrant people; all traits that are shown in this plant. This native icon typically has six pod-like flowers, and I have utilised this characteristic to represent the six ideals of the Conference: learning; truth; justice; mystery; diversity; and reconciliation.

THE CROSS
The cross reminds us of the Catholic faith that brings all the schools from all around Western Australia together. The closeness of the cross in relation to the plant shows that Catholic Education is alive and well.

THE "V"
The stylised “V” underneath the kangaroo paw symbolises the Vision that this Conference seeks.

THE COLOURS AND THE FONT
The natural colours of the red and green kangaroo paw are the predominant hues used in the logo, with a complementing dark green colouring the cross. The font used is called “Hanshand”, and its calligraphic nature softens the image.

The Conference Committee acknowledges with thanks Matthew Bonser who designed and described the Conference Logo.
Matt is a Year 9 student at John XXIII College.
